I'm writing this from the San Jose International airport as we wait for our over-booked flight back to Phoenix. As usual, America West has oversold the plane and now they're offering all kinds of incentives for people to give up their seats. I digress.
Last night, we were invited to the awards ceremony for the Software Development Magazine's Jolt awards held in San Jose California. Our OnTime 2004 for Web and Windows product was nominated as a finalist for the Defect Tracking category. Other finalist included JIRA, TestTrack Pro, FogBugz, Census and our own PowerTrack add-in for Visual Studio.
The awards ceremony was very cool. It was funner than I would have expected and I got to meet Stephen Bourne, the guy who created the popular “Bourne” shell in the UNIX world. I used the Bourne shell back in college in some of my CS classes and at my first job at IBM, so it was a treat to have met Stephen.
By the way, I'm in the plane now, so I know at least 2 people had to give up their seats for Michael and I to have an assigned seat. At least they can enjoy a nice flight to Hawaii :-)
Axosoft's OnTime 2004 for Web and Windows won a Jolt Productivity award. I was extremely excited to see Axosoft's OnTime product win an award so early in its development history and I look forward to next year when we will have the much more complete OnTime 2005 product in consideration.
