As we get closer to the release of OnTime 2006, one of my tasks has been to choose a box design and logo to represent the new version of the product. Our graphic artist, Bob McCarroll, is amazingly tallented and came up with a few designs for us to choose from:

A little bit of explanation on these box designs:
Top Left - If you can't tell what this is, you're lucky and you probably will wish you didn't know after I tell you. It's a crushed bee! The nasty stuff you see is the bee's head splattered all over the place. The thought behind this design was that OnTime helps you “cursh” bugs, but I think the message may have been lost in the graphic nature of the design.
Top Right - This design has a custom-designed lady-bug with an arrow gowing through it, symbolizing that OnTime lets you hit your project targets while killing bugs. The thought was a good one, but I think the overall image is not very impressive and can be a bit confusing (what's the arrow for?)
Bottom Left - This design has dozens of bugs running around and the popcorn looking images that you see are the bugs being blown away. Again the thought behind this design was that OnTime helps you kill bugs, but the image was once again somewhat confusing (what's the popcorn doing on the box? :-)
Bottom Right - This is a simple, clean box with just the custom-designed lady bug. Do you notice the “6”es on the bug's back? This of course symbolizes the 6th major release of OnTime. This ended up my favorite and although it's not the final box design, this is the design we're starting with for the new OnTime 2006 product line.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. What do you think of the above designs? Did we choose the right design? Should we have gone back to the drawing board? Let me know what you think.
