In May of 2005, Axosoft pioneered a new pricing model that's definitely unique in our industry.  We created a special “Small Team” edition of our software for companies that require fewer than 10 licenses of OnTime.  For this group, we actually discount the OnTime product by nearly 60%, include the best possible license (Mixed Mode, allowing for access via Window, the Web or VS.NET 2003/2005, or all three), plus we throw in the OnTime Customer Portal (for up to 10 customer-users).  Once those companies grow beyond 10 users, they have to pay us back for the price break we gave them when they were a small team before upgrading to OnTime Professional.

This type of “reverse” pricing discount was a risky move for us.  With OnTime Small Team Edition, we are essentially investing in the growth of smaller teams.  We understood that smaller teams have strict budgetary restrictions, and we wanted to make sure OnTime wasn't out of reach for them.  This has turned out to be a huge success for us and the customers we were able to price into an OnTime solution! These customers have absolutely loved the fact that they can save 60% of the regular price and still get everything (there are no feature restrictions in the OnTime Small Team Edition).

Today, as Emeril Lagasse would say, we're kicking it up a notch.  We're bundling OnTime Small Team Edition (5 or 10 Users) with 4 hours of web-based, instructor-led training, plus 1 year of upgrades and support. The cost price is just $988 for 5 users and $1688 for 10 users.  That is absolutely unheard of!  We don't know of any other company that provides a license + training + upgrades & support for 1 year for less than $170 per user - regardless of the industry! We like investing in small teams and it has proven to be less risky than we initially thought. When we help those small teams ship software on time, they grow, and we both benefit.

We're really spicing up this bundle, though, and making it even more fun.
