    Re: Performance?

We really needed the feature you put into the 2009 product.  We are currently running live with it so our 2008 database is gone due to the fact we upgraded it.  I will be able to come up with the closest backup we have to it and send it.

    Thanks

    Hi Computer Chip,

The file I got from you was empty? not sure what happend? Can you try resending the .bak file and please send a 2008 .bak too.

    Thanks!

    Arash

Arash - sorry about that, it was a permission problem pulling the zip file from the server.  I have both DBs on the way as I'm typing this.

By the way (and completely off topic b/c I don't see any support options for transferbigfiles.com) the throughput using Firefox is less than half what it is using IE.

I forgot to mention that the the saving of new or changes to defects, features and tasks are painfully slow as well.

    Re: Performance?

    Hi Guys,

We have ran several tests and don't see the discrepancy that was mentioned. The difference between 08' and 09' were 1 sec and we did some improvements. Thanks for sending us your db's!

    Jeff,

Your database tends to be slower (on both versions) as you have over 2700 projects.

I would like to have support call you and do a goto meeting to see these performance issues on your end. We will also have a developer looking at your environment. Please send me your contact information and what time is good for you guys?

    Thanks,
    Arash

    Re: Performance?

I just installed and imported our 60K defects and features from TeamTrack into OnTime 2009 and am seeing horrible performance as well.

The performance degredation is everywhere, but to give a specific example:

If I have a project with 400 defects in it and I text in the "Search for" field and filter it to a particular field (the Notes field for instance), it takes around 1 minute to display the resulting 20 items.  It is as if it is crawling all 60K items to check the search against rather than just the 400 in the selected project...

We are running on SQL Server on a Dual Quad Core (2 Quad Core Processors) box with 4G of RAM...
