    OnTime for Windows Timeout

Is there any way to increase the timeout for OnTime for Windows? We have a lot of remote users who access the DB via an F5 network and everything runs like we were right next to the DB server. The only problem is that sometimes attachment uploads, retrievals or searches take a while and timeout.

Is there a way to increase this? It's tough to convince my users that this is "the way a timeout works". To them it's just a crash.

    Thanks!

    Re: OnTime for Windows Timeout

    Hi Tom,

You can increase the timeout for the OnTime Windows client in your OnTime.config file by modifying the  "CommandTimeout" section of the XML. The default value here is -1 which OnTime interprets as 30 seconds but you can update it to any value in seconds to fit your needs. These OnTime.Config files are portable to different Windows clients so you can modify the file on one box and push the file to your user's machine from there or you can simply send out instructions to your users on how to modify this file on their own. The OnTime.Config file is usually located under your user's local settings like "C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\Axosoft\OnTime Windows\9.1" or "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Axosoft\OnTime Windows\9.1"
