    Restrict Project View Not Working
Set customer portal new user setting "Restrict View To" to a project which was created for a sub-projects view to customers only. This was done so that customers could only see certain projects to add defects, features and or incidents. When logging on to a customer portal account all projects are still visable from the Projects button on the main screen and also in the add defect, feature or incident all Project drop down list.

Re: Restrict Project View Not Working

    Good afternoon,

we have realized the same problem (Tolls/Customer Portal/Manage Customers - double-click on the exact customer). "Restrict Weiv" and "Auto Filter Items" on Customer doesnť work. It worked on OnTime 2006. Can you please take care about this issue quickly?

We are using version 7.0.1. 7150 now. I don't see this issue could be fixed on the last version.

    Thanks a lot

    Jana

Re: Restrict Project View Not Working

I am unable to replicate this problem in the OnTime 2007 customer portal. In my testing database I have total of four projects. I am only giving my customer portal user access to restricting the view and allowing add/edit in Project A. Now, project A has a sub-project called Project B which means that the customer portal user is able to see both of these projects and noting else. The user is allowed to add/edit for the Project A and B since the second project is a Sub of Project A. My customer portal user are only able to see these two projects in the project drop down list on main page as well as on the add/edit item window under the project drop down.

Can you tell me which Auto Filter items filter are you attempting to use for the customer portal users? Can you send me the exact filter condition of the filter that you are attempting to use in this situation?

    Thank you,

Re: Restrict Project View Not Working

    Thanks for your reply.

I guess some wrong settings have stayed in our database from version OnTime 2006.

I have created new Company (Tools/Customer Portal/Manage Customers - click Add). I have created new customer in that company.

I have set the "Restrict View to: GAR-IC", "Allow Add/Edit In: GAR-IC". (please see the screenshot Custom_1.png).

I have Logged in like the new user on the Customer portal. I have add new Defect. The Defect has appeared in different project then GAR-IC. I have erased the problematic project. I have add new Defect trough the customer portal again. Now the defect disappeared immediately and isn't displayed at all.

I checked the problem in our database. The defect is attached to the projectId to the project which has been erased (the Project doesn't exist in the database in the table Projects). I would like to give you more info but it is only one attachment possible to add.

I am affraid the filter problem relates to issue described above.

Is it possible to erase settings of customer portal or something like this? Do you have some another advice to me?

    Thanks

    Jana

Re: Restrict Project View Not Working

Can you tell me if you are using a custom field template for the OnTime Customer Portal by any chance? If you are, then the custom field template could possibly be assigning the incorrect project to the new items that are created. Please take a look at your custom field template if you have one and let’s see if you are assigning a project by default to the project field. If that’s not the case, then please feel free to contact our support staff at Support@axosoft.com for further troubleshooting of this problem.

    Thank you,

Re: Restrict Project View Not Working

    Thanks a lot!

This solved the problem with placement of the bugs reported trough the customer portal.

But there is still a trouble with usage of filter. So I will contact your support centrum as you have sugessted.

    Nice day to you

    Jana
