I am using OT 2007, latest version. In the Win32 app, editing features when there are a few hundered showing is painful. Would be nice if the grid did not have to fully refresh when posting edits (editing using the popup window). BTW: it isn't LAN speed. I am on the computer that the SQL server is on.

The lag that you are seeing is probably caused by the SQL server since its grabbing few hundred items from the database and it’s trying display them to the main list view of items in the OnTime client. You will notice that when attempting to display only a few items in a particular project, the application loads those items on the fly. I will go ahead and log the requested feature as a possible enhancement of OnTime in the near future.

Just a few features (3 to be exact) on the grid here. Either clicking an item or just arrowing up or down from item to item is sloooooooooooowwwww. Clicking the item to edit is slowwwwwwwwwww too. Based on the other posts and seeing the behavior of the grid, one can surmise that there's a problem with the  windows client grid implementation.

Just as a note: the web client grid is fairly snappy so it's obviously not the DB server. We have a massive quad-core sql server box with hardly any load currently so I doubt there's could be a problem with the server. ;)

I really hope this isn't listed as a "possible enhancement of OnTime". I'd much rather see this listed as a needed enhancement. We have several people on our team stating this issue is negatively affecting their productivity.

For a future reference, in our new Community site we have enabled our users to submit OnTime bugs and features that they wish to see resolved or enhanced in the application. Submitting a feature request in the “Requested Features” tab which is located two buttons on the right from the “Forums” section will allow you submit the desired request and also track their process.

The following feature requests have been submitted to our repository as a possible/needed feature enhancement of OnTime in the near future.

My only concern about that is that there are too many places to look now--and if it is a bug or not (maybe it is just my slow PC/server). I'd prefer you guys to be able to mark a post here as "This is a bug"

The grid view of items in OnTime windows client will load all of the items on one single page while in OnTime web, the grid view of items are paged instead. This significantly increases the performance of the OnTime web client since only a certain amount of items are displayed in the list grid view. In the OnTime windows client, this is not the case.

I was able to confirm with my development team that on the next maintenance release the OnTime, the windows client will have an increased performance when loading the grid view of items from the SQL database.
