Hello to all, Is there any way to make OnTime send a notification to a user and include to the mail not the link to the customer portal but some details of the issuse that have changed..?

    Thanks

    Re: EMail Notification

    Hello Nick,

The OnTime application currently allows you to specify which fields are displayed in the actual email notifications. This option is located under Tools > Email Notifications > Fields to Include section. As for the customer portal email notifications the functionality is a bit limited and it won’t allow you to have the same options as the regular notification settings. The only placeholders that you can currently add to the email would be URL and ITEMID. We are looking to enhance this section of the application in our upcoming releases of OnTime.

    Re: EMail Notification

    Hello Dragan,

I am very pleased to read that in the upcoming release the mail functionality is going to be more rich than it is...

In my installation i have only install the OnTime For Windows and of cource i have install the VS.NET componet which is really toooo much helpfull... I have all my application users defined as customers cause there is no need to use the OnTime application. OnTime is only used from me. So i have the need to inform my users in a way about their issues.. as the progress goes....

Something else now. I am trying to use the test tool from the settings which always says to me that there is an error and i have to look the exception log... Where is that log ..?

    Thanks

    Nick

    Re: EMail Notification

    Hello nlekkas,

The purposes of the OnTime 2007 Services are:

    • OnTime POP Mail Service - This service can monitor one or more POP-based email accounts for new emails.  As new mail arrives, the OnTime POP Service kicks into gear and creates new items and/or associates email threads with existing items.
    • OnTime Email Queuing Service - The OnTime Email Queuing Service allows users to queue up email notifications automatically in the OnTime database.  Queued emails are then picked up by the OnTime Queuing Service and sent via an SMTP server.
    • OnTime Alerts Service - The OnTime Alerts Service monitors the OnTime database for any items that meet predetermined alert conditions.  If such items are found, alert notifications are sent immediately to the appropriate users.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,
