This new option in the workflow settings of projects is what many of us have been asking for. Unfortunately, I can't make it work.

We have a number of projects which inherit workflow from a common parent. That parent has the workflow defined, and the "Keep moved items in workflow step if using same workflow" ticked. Moving an item (with multiedit) between child projects causes the workflow to reset.

I haven't seen a description of this new feature in any of the 'whats new' lists. Have I missed it?

We have not been able to reproduce this issue.  Can you please give us more details about how you have it set up?

Dan, I have been working on this, and have now found why this didn't work for me. I had a cascaded set of projects, and one of these wasn't inheriting the workflow from the step before, but was redefining the same workflow. After the migration to V8 I only ticked the 'Keep moved items...' box in the topmost project, as I didn't realised it was redefined deeper in the tree.

Summary - my problem was my configuration, but it's nice to see a feature we desperately wanted has been included. I have this lodged as a feature request (3054), so this can be closed out now.

I really want to roll this out to our users, any idea when the 'Beta' splash screen when you start up will go away?

I only ever downloaded RC. It claims to be 8.0.0.7513 on the about screen. The spash dialog I get whenever I start is uploaded as ASI6828, as you can't attach an image in the forum.

I thought you were referring to the actual splash image when you run OnTime Windows.  The activation screen will go away after the release, once you re-activate your key (assuming you have a valid 2008 license - which means you have to either have current maintenance or have purchased in the past month or so).
