On some pages, creating an external link just doesn't work. After closing the Create Link dialog with the Insert Link button, there is no change to the Wiki page. Nothing has changed to the HTML either.

 However, 'sometimes' it does work OK. Very strange.

Is this in Web or Windows?  What are you typing in for the URL?  Make sure you type in the protocol (e.g http://), the windows control will validate the URL and it won't accept it without the protocol.

Think I have found the problem. I have always entered URLs as http:\\www.axosoft.com. IE7 doesn't worry about this, but using the 'wrong' slash character obviously does mess up the linking.
