    Editing Picklists with Stored Procedures

I've created a new picklist based on a stored procedure and once I complete the form, there is no way to edit the stored procedure portion of the picklist. When you click "Edit" on the Picklist, the only item you see to change is the PickList Name. If "user picklists from stored procedures" are enabled, the edit form should allow you to tweak the stored procedure settings. I had a picklist defined by values that I wanted to change to be stored procedure based and I had to create a whole new picklist and then go through and change each of my custom fields to be based on the new picklist.

    I'm running 2007 version 7.0.0.7133. Thanks.

    Hi Walt,

We are aware of this issue. Probably not going into the next build but definitely will be addressed in a future build. Thanks for the feedback!

    Hi,

Is this fixed in the 2008 build?

    Thanks,

    JP.

    Hello jpdp,

It appears as if this hasn't been addressed in OnTime 2008. If you have the 'Stored Procedure' setting disabled in the System Options, and create a picklist under that setting, even after enabling the option the picklist will not be able to be based on stored procedures. I'm not sure why this particular defect wasn't addressed in OnTime 2008, but I'm going to resubmit it as a defect in that version and make sure it gets looked at once again. You might want to submit it in our Customer Portal as well, as your feedback has been valuable during the Beat testing of OnTime 2008.

Re: RE: Editing Picklists with Stored Procedures

    Hi Tom,

The picklist works in 2008, but you can't change it once it is set. It seems like the value of the picklist is  read only.

You  can  certainly  alter the  contents of the  stored procedure.

Is there a way to show more than one column on  a stored procedure?

I would like to show the Code, Description , but only have the Code value to be entered into the lookup field.

    Thanks,

    jp.

Re: RE: Editing Picklists with Stored Procedures

    Hello jpdp,

There is currently no way to have more than one column show up in the pick list values. But you could modify the stored procedure to combine the 2 columns into one, and they'd just display together side by side in the picklist.

Re: RE: Editing Picklists with Stored Procedures
I'm trying to get a combined list of the Users List and Customer Contacts List, that will display in the windows client and the customer portal.  Does anyone have a suggestion for a stored procedure?  I could make a custom list and type everyone's name in, but I want to associate emails with both groups.
