    Running OnTime 2008 in a 64-bit environment

I have read the FAQ about OnTime 2007 and 64-Bit.

    Now my questions:

    - Is this still the same for 2008?

    - Does OnTime run on 64-bit anyway, if we don't use the reporting engine?

    Thanks

    Eric

    Hello Eric,

The OnTime 2008 Windows client will now work on a 64-bit machine without any required changes, while the OnTime 2008 Web is the same as the OnTime 2007 Web. You'll need to follow the same steps in that FAQ for OnTime 2008 Web.

    Thank you,

    Hi Tom, thanks for answering.

My problem is that IIS needs to run in 64-bit mode because of Exchange Server.

Is it anyway possible to use OnTime Web on the 64-bit (without reporting) ?

    Thanks

    Eric

Re: Running OnTime 2008 in a 64-bit environment

Unfortunately the reporting assemblies are staticly referenced from OnTime Web, so there's no way to seperate the two in order to run in 64-bit mode.

IIS 7.0 supports running 32-bit and 64-bit app pools side by side on the same server, but for IIS 6.0 and below, the only real option is to install IIS on two different servers -- one for 32-bit applications and one for 64-bit applications. This is a fairly frequent problem given Exchange 2007's 64-bit-only requirement, so I gather this is MS's way of encouraging people to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 ASAP Hmm

Re: Running OnTime 2008 in a 64-bit environment

I followed the instructions in the <a href="http://community.axosoft.com/forums/thread/12448.aspx">FAQ</a>, however IIS simply responded as all websites with ASP.Net being 404.

It appears that you must also enable "ASP.Net v2.0.50727 (32-bit)" if it is Prohibited under the Web Service Extensions in IIS Manager.
