NEW FEATURE REQUEST - Link and Embed External Wiki Pages

I give up!  When creating enhancement requests using IE6 I get errors. With Firefox it's ok but I have only been able to create one!  After my first request saved others that I create are not appearing in the list and I am not getting any errors.  So below is my enhancement request if someone in Axosoft can create it for me.

I would like to be able to associate a URL with an instance of OnTime, Project Folder and/or individual item.
This URL can optional have bind variable to include meta data from the selected item (eg Folder Name, Item Id, etc) which would resolve to a wiki page item related to the one selected.
This wiki page should be rendered in the wiki TAB.

Why?  Well, as much as I like the idea of the OnTime wiki there are a number of reasonse why linking and embedding pages from external wikis is a good idea

    • I have a massive investment in a development wiki (MediaWiki) with over 800 pages of info linked to products maintained in OnTime.  I can't convert this into OnTime format.
    • On OpenSource projects I might want an internal development tracker in OnTime and link through to the public wiki for the open source system.
    • It will take a few years for your wiki to be mature!  For a first release of a wiki it's ok but it's going to take several releases to get it as good as other more well established wiki platforms available now. (Do what you do best!  Build software for change management! I would rather you spent my support dollar on making OnTime better than trying to re-invent the wheel)

    See http://aazz.angelfire.com/ontime_wiki.jpg for example.

    Hello Graham,

I've submitted your suggestion in the Customer Portal using IE6, without any error. Would you mind trying again the next time you need to submit something, and let me know if you still have any problems?

    Thank you,

Hi Tom Thanks for submitting this for me.  I'll try again soon as I have a few other suggestions from my development team which I'd like to request.

    Regards

Hi Yes I also support this feature request.

My company would be very interested in using this product, however we currently use MediaWiki for our documentation - and we have about 1500 pages created so far.

However, even if we did not have a large amount of content we would still be reluctant to move to your wiki as mediawiki is a very mature and powerful system. if you were able to associate a URL with each item, preferable with a variable, for example $(wikidomain)+$(ItemName), would be great.

    Hello Magick,

I went ahead and submitted that idea about the Wiki to our developers myself. I encourage you to submit any other ideas you have about how to improve the OnTime Wiki in our Customer Portal as a Feature Request.

    Thank you,
