    Multiple domains, different servers Reply Quote

    I'd like to host one instance of purechat for 2 domains we are responsible for. We have public test and production versions of each site with test and prod on two different machines. In the HTML, can

    var pc_b = '[YOURINSTALLATIONPATH]/PureChat/';

    YOURINSTALLATIONPATH be a subdomain like:

    'purchat/mydomain.com' where mydomain has nothing to do with either of the domain names we host (though mydomain is owned by us but resides on a third server unrelated to either of the domains mentioned above)?

    Thanks,

    If I'm understanding your question right, the answer is yes.

    Assuming you have:

    http://www.foo.com

    and

    http://test.foo.com

    Both of those can have the html snippets, pointing to:

    var pc_b = 'http://purechat.foo.com/PureChat/'

    There's a property in the purechat.config that lets you restrict access to the domains your particular installation will work for.

    Jonas,

    Yes you have it right, that's what I was asking.

    Might be interesting to allow domain-specific graphics in the purechat.config file...

    Thanks for the info.
