Up grading from OnTime V 7.1 to Ontime 2008

I'm doing some research on up grading OnTime to the new 2008 version for my company.  I was wondering what must be done for there to be a successful up grade?

How will the Database be affected by these up grades?

Will all of our settings still be active after the up grade?

    Thanks

Re: Up grading from OnTime V 7.1 to Ontime 2008

    Hello,

Upgrading from OnTime 2007 to 2008 will require a database change.  You will also need an OnTime Admin account not using Windows Integrated Authentication.

All your data should get upgraded without a problem and all your Work Logs Work Flows etc. should remain.  New features will become available.  You will need to upgrade all clients of OnTime to the new 2008 version (Web Client, Customer Portal, E-Mail Queue Service, Remote Server, Windows Client & OnTime for VS.Net)

For OnTime Windows Client you will need to reconnect using the OnTime Database Setup tool

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Up grading from OnTime V 7.1 to Ontime 2008

I have a few more items to ask:

Do we need to obtain new licenses?

Where do we go to convert them to the new version?

What do you mean by 'upgrade the database' ?

After the install, can we just configure it to the same database, or are there extra steps to take to ensure the safety of our data?

    Thanks for the help,

I was just asked a few more questsion:

there's a database upgrade wizard that shows up once you install the new version.. I didn't know if it involved anything else except for a 'yes'

and if there are any costs to upgrading, which I'm sure there are...

    thanks again,
