Hello,
I have installed 'OnTimeV71WebSetup.exe' on a Windows Server 2003 machine with IIS 6.0.
I can view the log on page in IE6.0 but when I try to log on, I get the error message: "Login information is invalid. Try again!"
Can someone please advise me as to how to proceed?
These are the installation instructions I have followed:
User Configuration
Authentication (Windows client):
My user account is set up in the Windows Client with 'Use Windows Integrated Authentication'.
{domain}\username
Access Type:
Mixed Mode
Web Connection
I have the OnTime Remote Server installed (we have one licence) and have ensured that:
1) It works by logging on in my account using the remote server connection.
2) I have denied each user access to the remote server.
3) I have used the web configuration tool to configure a connection via the remote server, tested the connection and passed the test.
IIS access permissions
OnTime Web Edition has two forms of authentication that may be used:
- Windows Integrated Authentication
Windows Integrated Authentication allows users of OnTime to be automatically authenticated using the same credentials that they used to log into Windows. This is the recommended method of authentication when adding new users.
To use Windows Integrated Authentication, you must disable "Anonymous" access to the OnTimeWeb Virtual Directory in IIS. Follow these steps to do so:
- Open the Internet Information Services Manager (usually accessed from Start->Program Files->Admin Tools->Internet Information Services)
- Under "Web Sites", find the web folder that represents the "OnTimeWeb" application
- Open the properties for the OnTimeWeb application
- From the "Directory Security" tab, click the "Edit" button towards the top near the "Anonymous access and authentication control"
- In the new window that opens, clear the "Anonymous access" check box.
- Under the "Authenticated Access" section, make sure that the "Integrated Windows authentication" option is checked and all other options are unchecked.
- Click OK to save the authentication settings..
- Click OK again to close the OnTimeWeb properties
Important Note: Even when using Windows Integrated Authentication, users of OnTime still need to be created in the OnTime database. If this is the first time you are using OnTime, login as the "Admin" user and create a new user that matches your Windows login credentials. After following the steps above, your Windows login credential should appear here:
Currently logged in Anonymously
Please can someone advise me where I am going wrong!?
