    How to configure IIS6 for OnTime Web Services
    (OnTime Web Client - OnTime Customer Portal - OnTime Remote Server)

    Prerequisites:
    Access to your Web Server hosting IIS 6 with ASP.Net 2.0 Installed
    OnTime 2008 Installation Files
    SQL Server Authentication Information


    This will help you configure IIS6 for OnTime 2008 Web client, Customer Portal and Remote Server.  OnTime can use two methods for authenticating Users - OnTime Authentication or Windows Integrated Authentication.

     

    .   1 Create a new application pool if using IIS6 or higher



     

    .       2 Run the OnTime Web Client, Remote Server or Customer Portal installer and configure the website & virtual directory name (OnTime Web Client setup shown)

    3.       3 The OnTime 2008 Web Configuration Tool should automatically load after installation.  Configure the OnTime Database accordingly.


            4 Save your settings and close the configuration tool


    5.       5 Configure the Virtual Directory Authentication Method.
                      
    a. Open the website your virtual directory is in
                       b. Right click your virtual directory and view the properties
                       c. Go to the Directory Security Tab in the properties screen
                       d. In the directory security screen click the Edit button for Anonymous access and authentication control.
                       e. Select the appropriate settings for your OnTime user configuration

    6.       6 Confirm that your virtual directory is using ASP.Net 2.0.50727
                       a. Open the website your virtual directory is in
                       b. Right click your virtual directory and view the properties
                       c. Go to the ASP.Net tab in the properties screen

    7.       7 Add default.aspx to the default documents list if not listed
                       a. Open the website your virtual directory is in
                       b. Right click your virtual directory and view the properties
                       c. Go to the Documents Tab in the properties screen


    8.       8 Configure the virtual directory to use the new Application Pool created in step 1
                       a. Open the website your virtual directory is in
                       b. Right click your virtual directory and view the properties
                       c. Go to the Virtual Directory Tab in the properties screen

    9.       9 OnTime should now be accessible via the web browser
