I know this has come up before, but the single largest inhibitor to productibity comes in not providing a way to prompt for required fields, or make bulk changes (multi-edit) to *any* field.

Example:  When developers are fixing bugs, the get moved to a code complete state.  When we do a build, all of the included defects should get changed to "Ready for Test", and have a build number associated with them.  I can bulk change the workflow step, but then I have to open each individual defect to change the build number.   That would cause two notifications anyway, so at present we just open each defect and make both changes at once.

Adding the ability to multi-edit *any* field, combined with the improved Alerts, would solve both of these problems.  I don't need to set an alert trigger when the "build number of fix" field changes, (though not having a trigger for workflow step is odd - see other post), and if you could look at the field type and bring up a dialog with the appropriate edit box, check box, date box, etc., it would be beautiful.

If you look at the release notes for the latest 7.1 and 7.1.1. versions of OnTime, many 'Multi-edit' issues were resolved and the feature itself was greatly enhanced. Here's a link to the 7.1 notes:

As you may have noticed, you can now Multi-Edit workflow steps in the current version of OnTime 2007.
