    Performance with 30.000+ issues?

I would like to know if there is anybody who have used Ontime over a longer period and have a database which contains a lot of issues.

Is performance affected by this? - I plan to mainly use webclient for external dev. and QA

Are you still able to easily manage the issues? (grouping, filters, navigation etc.)

I am new to Ontime and have not worked with the tool for long. I have worked in testing for a long time, however the projects I have been running (up to now) have had around 3000 issues. So I am curious to whether this is the best tool to use for projects where huge amounts of issues will arise.

Thanks for Axosoft as well as "normal user" input.

    /Jens Henrik

    Re: Performance with 30.000+ issues?

    Hi Jens,

We have been using OnTime 2006 live since January 1st this year (after a three months implementation project) in a 30 user environment with over 25000 reported bugs and features. Bugs and defects are all stored as defects. I have to admit that OnTime 2006 is too slow for normal operations. I get a lot of complaints from our users! However the benefits of OnTime are compensating a all of this.

We just started our test of OnTime 2007 and I have to say that it looks very promising. Response time is very much improved. We discovered some bugs in filtering and I hope Axosoft will fix those on a short notice. Feel free to ask me again in a week or two. I hope these bugs are fixed than and I can confirm those first promising results on performance.

By the way: we are using windows clients.

    Re: Performance with 30.000+ issues?

    Jens,

I promised to reply...here are our results:

there are still some (irritating) bugs, but the performance boost in OnTime 2007 was so promising we decided to swap and work around the bugs. Also with 30 users working on a 25.000 items containing defect list (most solved Wink) OnTime 2007 is really much much faster and even my colleagues with the slowest machines are very happy now.

    So: don't worry about performance!

    Paul
