    Email notification not working

I'm using OnTime 2006, both the client and web versions.

I can successfully send a test email from the client, and receive it in my pop3 account.  However, automatic notifications are not working.  I have tried changing a feature in both the client and web version, but never receive the message.  There are no errors (or any other entries) in the Event Viewer of my workstation or the web server indicating the problem.

The email notifications used to work correctly.  The only thing that changed was that we had turned off the notifications, then decided that we wanted them.

Before you ask - the email server is hosted by a third party along with our domain.  I do not have access to the logs...

    Re: Email notification not working

Please make sure that you have unchecked the option to “Suppress all Notifications” under Tools > Email Notifications > Email Configuration window. Verify that your email server SMPT settings are correct by clicking on the “Test” button which will allow you to send a test email notification message. Relaying to the mail server also must be enabled. If the test feature in OnTime doesn’t work, then please make sure that relaying is enabled on the mail server for the workstations that use the OnTime 2006 windows client as well as the OnTime 2006 web server.

    Thank you,

    'Supress All..' is not checked.

I can successfully send a test message.

Please explain 'relaying to the mail server must also be enabled'?

     thank you

    Re: Email notification not working

Relaying is an option in the mail server that will allow other applications such as OnTime to relay the emails message to the mail server in which is then sent to the proper destination.  More information on relaying can be found under the following web URL.

Hi Dragan - is the test message not also relayed ? I'm trying to understand why the test message would work but not the global or other activtiy generated notifications. Thanks
