Our company has been evaluating OnTime for a couple of weeks and I wanted to say that I think that OnTime is currently the best solution in the market for task and bug tracking.  It has pretty much all of the major features I would like to have in such a system - windows, web, and Visual Studio clients, good customization, multi-edit support, etc, etc.

With that said, I do believe there are some features that would improve it even further.  Here's some of the improvements I would like to see:

1. A tab for viewing all defects, features, and tasks together in the Windows and Web clients.  I've seen other posts request this, and I've seen axosoft's responses, but I believe this is an important feature that is missing and should be added.
2. Item elements editable inline in the list view in the Windows client.  It doesn't feel right that I can't click on an empty line and start editing that item directly in the list.
3. There should be an easy way to see what tasks or defects you haven't read in the Windows, web, or Visual Studio client.  Maybe you can show unread tasks in bold like Outlook?
4. Option that allows you to specify that email notifications are only sent after a task has been read after the last change.  For example, let's say someone assigns a task to me.  I get an email notification of that task assignment.  Let's say they go back in and edit the Name of that task.  Currently I would get another email if the "Change Tasks" type is enabled.  Instead, how about an option that allows you to suppress any further change emails until the user has opened the item?
   
5. Ability to set "Task is Public" from Multi-edit.  Multi-edit is very useful, but I was disappointed that you can set "Task is Public" via the Multi-edit menu.
   
6. Links don't work when you're editing a Task's Notes section.   Would it be possible to add some way to follow a hyperlink while you edit the task?  Maybe "Press Control and Click" like outlook?
7. Resizing a task causes some fields to be covered by other fields.  A minor problem, but worth nothing.
8. Ability to specify icons items in custom Pick Lists.  minor request.
   

Another feature request:  It would be good if you could add text items when pasting screenshots into an item's Attachments section.

Hello Michael,

I have submitted the following requests to our customer feedback section as possible feature enhancements of the OnTime application in the near future. Currently, the ability to view all defects, features, tasks and incidents in a single list view is available under the “User Dashboard” which is a new addition to the OnTime 2007 version of the application. The User Dashboard has the ability to list all assigned items for each user in the application allowing them to quickly review their workload and particular items based on the projects that they are working on.
