Creating Customized reports (for a novice w/ SQL) Reply Quote

I am new to SQL, but understand the logic. There are several reports that I would like to have created (hopefully more of taking a standard OnTime report and then customizing). Is it easy to learn how to do the stored procedures for the reports? Or is it just easier to get a person that understands sql to do the report?

    Hello,

I would say that in most cases you'll want to have someone very familiar with both SQL and ActiveReports to be designing your customer reports.

The amount of money you may have to spend hiring someone might be far less compared to the time and energy you'd have to exert trying to do it yourself- especially if you're not fully comfortable working with SQL and ActiveReports.

I noticed you posted in another thread here, and you might be able to simply alter the existing reports that ship with OnTime with having to write any stored procedures.

    Thank you,
