    Failed to Connect to Database

    Hi,  we recently purchased OnTime 2007 for Windows, installed, and are getting it set up.  I have set up a SQL Server 2005 database on a server on our intranet, and am not trying to get our clients set up.

    I have installed the Windows client application on about 6 users' computers with no problems.  Today I tried to install on another user's computer, and get the "Failed to Connect to Database" error.  Everyone is using Windows Integrated Authentication.  When I change the problem user's connection to use SQL server authentication, it works fine. 

     I am unfortunately drawing a blank on how to troubleshoot this.  Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can anyone tell me where to look to figure out what's wrong with this one computer?

    Hello ckaramihas,

    If the first 6 users can connect to the SQL database, and the 7th can connect correctly when using the SA login instead of the Windows Authentication, then we can safely assume that cause of the problem exists somewhere within that 7th user's Windows login permissions.

    You should compare permissions between one of your users who can connect to the SQL Server, and the user who cannot, to see if there's any obvious difference. Depending on how you have your network configured, you may need to check the permitted users on the SQL Server to make sure that 7th user is allowed.
