    AD Authentication and domains

Our network folks like to put publicly accessible servers outside of our domain (i.e. the servers are on their own workgroup and are not assigned a domain).  However, I would like to use Active Directory Authentication with our OnTime.  I've set up several users and made their authentication mode Windows, but (of course) users are unable to log in via the OnTime Web and Windows clients.  I assume this because the server is not on the domain.

Is there a way around this?  How does the server (OnTime and IIS) authenticate to AD when its not on the domain?

    Thanks!

    Re: AD Authentication and domains

That is correct. The reason that users are unable to authenticate to the web edition of OnTime is because the actual web server is not part of the domain that the users are on which means that the application doesn’t know where to authenticate the user. The only way to resolve this issue from my experience would be to add the web server to the domain that the users are authenticating with.

    Thank you,
