    Trial with the Windows Client

    Helo!

    I am testing OnTime 2007 to choose a system for the company I work for (~50 users).

    So far, I have tested the web interface using the free 30-day trial, but I also have to test the Windows Client. I have downloaded it and tried to "Connect to Remote Server", but I don't know what to enter in the fields "OnTime Remote Server URL" and "Security Token Guid". The documentation doesn't give any usuful advice as well. I tried "http://ontime2.axosoft.com/futurep" and "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000", but it doesn't work ("Failed opening the database.").

    Hello,

    It sounds as if the Remote Server hasn't yet been installed for your Hosted trial account. Before you can use the OnTime Windows client you'll need to install the Remote Server for your account, which will then supply you with the URL and Security ID you'll need.

    To install the Remote Server you must first login to the Axosoft Store for your account. Once in the store click on your Hosted account, which will take you to the Hosted Dashboard. From here you'll probably see the button labeled "Install Remote Server". Click that button and after it's finished an email will be sent to you with the Remote Server URL and the Security GUID. You can then use that information to connect your OnTime Windows client to your hosted database via the Remote Server.
