    Multiple Problems After 2008 Upgrade

We are working on these issues with Axosoft Support. However, if any other clients have seen or know how to fix any of these problems, please let me know:

  • Saving incidents in web gives three errors and the grid does not refresh after the item saves. The data does save though.
  • Saving incidents in windows causes the client to crash
  • Retrieving emails that cause new cases to be generated in windows gives an error about a column not existing in the incident table. The windows version also crashes after this happens.
  • Retrieving email on the web gives a different error about something being null.
  • The service is not creating any new incidents.
  • Web version is timing out.
  • Possible problem with dependent picklists.

Re: Multiple Problems After 2008 Upgrade

    Hello Jeff,

You an I just spoke on the phone about this issue and were able to resolve it, but I wanted to briefly mention the resolution we found here in the forums for other user's benefit.

Jeff had a strange issue that revolved around one just of his projects. He called earlier today after doing a bit more testing, and he found that these issues were caused specifically when an Incident was created in one particular Project- seemingly his most-used project. He had a POP3 mail account which would create new Incidents in this project, which was crashing both of the OnTime clients, which gave the appearance of an array of email issues.

We figured out that there was a project-specific Alert that was the cause of these crashes. This field change Alert seemed to be using a field that was either renamed or no longer existed in it's same datatable after upgrading to OnTime 2008. By simply removing the Alerts we were able to stop all the crashes he was experiencing.

We're still investigating the reason this field label was somehow corrupted, as we've had no other reports of this behavior from any other customers who've upgraded to OnTime 2008. If anyone else experiences this type of issue- with multiple crashes revolving around one particular project(or alert), please reply to this thread with specific details so I can help sort out if you have a similar issue, or something else entirely.

Thanks again Jeff, let me know if you need anything else.

Re: Multiple Problems After 2008 Upgrade

    Hell Jeff and everyone,

We've been able to identify that using the Customer Name field in an Alert will cause OnTime to crash. This has been logged in our system as a bug (#2990) in OnTime 2008 and will be addressed in an upcoming maintenance release.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and hope to get this resolved as soon as possible.

    Thank you,
