    SQL Express database file

    Hi,

we are using  SQL Express as database server, which is limitated at 4GB database file. In this moment, the database size is 1GB. I try to archive the closed bugs, but it seems that the archiving process only mark an incident with true or false at field Archived. I need to delete the closed incidents from the database, because I need to shrink the database to a smaller size (let say 500 MB) . How can I do this, because we don't want ot migrate to other version of Microsoft SQL Server?

    Thanks in advance,

    Raul Gereanu

    Re: SQL Express database file

If you want to delete the items you can simply select them and delete them.  Other than selecting all from the grid, there is no way of doing bulk delete like you do with archiving, if that's what you're asking.

If you are using a lot of attachments, one option might be to not store the attachments in the database and instead store them on a network share. Depending on what your process is that may or may not work for you.
