Why is information not transferred when I copy an incident to a defect?
Why is information not transferred when I copy an incident to a defect?  When I copy an incident to a defect I lose the name, reported date, severity etc all of which are fields common to both the defect and the incident field templates.  However when I copy a defect to an incident this information is copied.  Is there a way to ensure that these fields are copied from incident to defect?

    Hello Kay,

You and I discussed this on the phone, but I wanted to post a reply here for the benefit of others.

Based on your description, it appears as if you have a Defect workflow step or template which is changing those fields when the Incident is being copied to a Defect. Check the Step Actions tab under each of your workflow steps to make sure you're not inadvertently changing those values.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you,
