Problems sending email notifications with Ontime Windows Client

    Hi..

     We are on version  8.1.3.7881.

I have configured the email notification settings, and tested them from within the client.  It reports back that the test worked ok,

    Trying to load assembly Axosoft.Common.SmtpClient.dll...
    Loaded assembly Axosoft.Common.SmtpClient.dll successfully...
    Setting mail assembly properties...
Trying to create a new mail message...
    Created mail message successfully...
    Setting message properties...
    Trying to send email...
    Message sent successfully!

But no mesage gets recieved by the client.

I have tried 3 SMTP servers, turning firewall on off and no luck.  The SMTP servers work fine via Outlook Express.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Shin..

Did you set up the email notifications to use the Email Queue?  If so, do you have the email queue service installed and running?  When using the email queue, OnTime will report success when doing the Test, but the emails actually just get stored in the database and the service is responsible for sending them.

    Doh!!! Surprise

That was it, i must have switched it on at some point and forgot about it.

The notifictaions are coming through, but we've noticed some of the field mappings don't work eg:

    • In the subject line it just says "changes to incident #", theres no number
    • The "project name" is labelled as "name"
    • The "Notes" and "Description" fields are always blank.

    regards,

    Surinder..

There might be a problem with your email template.  You can go edit the email template and check/uncheck some fields, save it, the edit it again and reset your fields.  That should fix the template if it somehow got out of sync.
