  • Setting BUG ID ranges for multiple development locations

I manage a fairly large development team that are geographically seperated and on different N/Ws. How can I set a range of BUG IDs for each team, e.g. Team A has BUG IDs 1-2999, Team B has BUG IDs 3000-4999, etc.  Also, how can we import each set of bugs into each ontime database and maintain the IDs that were used at each location. This ...

  • Re: SDKExample_Project2003 sample didnt add any tasks

Matthew,   As the items appear in the Audit Trail, that confirms that they are in fact in the OnTime system.  So I'm left with thinking that you may possibly have some filters enabled that might be blocking them from your view.  Please disable any filters and ensure that you are looking at the correct project ...

  • Super Slowness Cause Found + Recommendations

I've been experiencing intollerable slowness in both the Windows client and the Web client using version 7.1.1.7329. Here are some timings: Click on any project in the project tree:  19-30 seconds. Double-click a feature, defect, or task:  19-25 seconds. Pretty much anything I clicked on took between 19 and 35 seconds.  ...

  • Re: Visibility of archived OnTime tasks to Outlook 2007

Grant, The OnTime SDK Example that integrates Tasks into Outlook 2007 is not 'production ready' and is therefore just a simple example of how to work with the SDK and perform basic operations within Outlook 2007.  Upon working with the example and modifying it to your needs you could include the ability to include/exclude archived and ...

  • Custom field pick list display width?

Hi All, I have two questions for the awesome OnTime crew! I'm working with a custom field that is a drop down list based on a stored procedure.  The problem is that I've not been able to control its physical with on the Windows form or the web form.  The Web form does expand to a valid size with some work on the client ...

  • Comparative Reports

Hi does anyone know how I could create comparative and/or measurement type reports? I would like to produce a report that tells me how long each defect took (from Defect Found to Defect Fixed) to resolve and to group these by severity and/or impact with averages times for each (severity/impact).

  • Who's Working on What

''Who's Working on What?  It's the product's design!  With Axosoft, You're Shipping Software ONTIME!'' OK, OK, that's a line from the new Axosoft Rap Song, Fear The Bug, but there's been a lot of discussion on these forums about our claim that OnTime helps project managers know ''Who's Working on What.''  There was some ...

  • OnTime V7.1 Beta - Performance, Performance, Performance! And more!

Up to 10 TIMES Faster!  If there's one word that could summarize OnTime V7.1 enhancements, it's Performance.  As OnTime users continue to put more and more data into the OnTime system, the ability to retrieve that data in a timely fashion has become an increasing priority.  For larger database systems and slower connectivity, OnTime ...

  • Listen to "Fear The Bug" and watch "Buggin' Out!" Axosoft Rap Songs!

Fear The Bug  As you may have heard, we've running a Geek Marketing Contest and putting up $5,000 for the best viral marketing idea we can find.  While we were waiting for submissions to the Geek Marketing Contest, we decided to move forward with the creation of a rap song ourselves.  We hired a group called the Big Beat ...

  • Re: OnTime 2007 SDK - Outlook Task Sample

Justin, The sample has not been tested in a 'disconnected' environment, however, the sample retrieves items from OnTime and then places them in the Outlook Tasks Folder -- this would allow for synchronization with a PDA, as well as accessing the items 'offline' from Outlook on a laptop, etc. I did not write any code to take into account ...

  • Re: OnTime 2007 SDK - Outlook Task Sample

Justin, the Outlook Task Integration Sample for the OnTime SDK is just that -- An OnTime SDK Sample.  This does not mean that Axosoft has official or unofficial intentions to integrate the OnTime Suite into the Microsoft Office Suite.  This sample show cases some of the finer functionalities that a developer can use the OnTime SDK ...

  • Updating OnTime database statistics to boost query performance

Recently we have noticed that when updating the table statistics of the SQL database, the OnTime application performance seems to be much better. The following SQL command will update all of the table statistics in the database which should increase the performance of queries that the SQL server performs on daily basis. This command can be used in ...

  • OnTime 2007 SDK sample Web application using Yahoo! UI

With all the other SDK samples posted by David you are probably getting overwhelmed, but we're giving you one more.  I had wanted to take a look at the Yahoo! UI library for a while, and since we had wanted to have both a Windows and a Web sample this was a good opportunity to write the Web sample using YUI. In terms of layout and ...
