Those following Hamid's blog over at ShipSoftwareOnTime.com have probably already come across the iPhone Desktop article he published. If not, check it out; it's better than this article. It's more detailed, laying out some of the specs we conjured up. This article's more of a behind the scene's look at how we ended up with the idea ...

As many of you know, we setup a geek marketing contest a while ago where anyone could submit an idea, a video, image or anything that might have some kind of viral effect to help Axosoft get some unusual marketing exposure. We had more than 60 submissions to the Geek Marketing Contest.
However, one of the submissions by Dan Lamoureux and MC ...

As the Geek Marketing Contest winds down and we're taking another look at the entries, naturally the submissions with links to prototypes and/or final, polished products grab our attention first. Without implying how these entries will fare in the contest, here's a quick list of links to contest entries with some multimedia elbow grease ...

Fear The Bug
As you may have heard, we've running a Geek Marketing Contest and putting up $5,000 for the best viral marketing idea we can find. While we were waiting for submissions to the Geek Marketing Contest, we decided to move forward with the creation of a rap song ourselves. We hired a group called the Big Beat ...

Hi Hamid,
Is this the forum where we post the ideas or is this just for FAQs for the Geek Marketing contest?
Thanks,

I have to say it. I've been pretty disappointed with our Geek Marketing Contest results so far. A little more than 30 marketing ideas have been submitted and nothing so far that has been worthy of a $5,000 prize. There is still plenty of time, but if all we get is 50 or so marketing ideas, that makes the average marketing idea ...

Recently, Joshua Bell, had some fun with an experiment / prank to see what would happen if he stepped down from his venerable $1,000-a-minute gig as ''America's Best Classical Musician'' and posed as a D.C. street musician.
Would Anyone Notice Him?
Here's the scenario:
The scene:
It's rush hour in D.C. - 7:51 a.m.
Metro at ...

I just ran into a marketing flashback project that we had done a while back. A couple of years ago, in an attempt to create a viral marketing site for OnTime 2005, we came up with a funny web site, ShipSoftwareOnTime.com, which among other funny things had an ''OnTime for DOS'' window listing a bunch of amusing facts:
Of course, nothing ...

Since we announced our Geek Marketing Contest a couple of days ago, my geek radar is much more sensitive now. Angelo pointed to a number of articles that revolve around geek marketing, but lately, everything seems to be geek oriented. Just now, I saw Wired Magazine has an article titled Top 10 Reasons Why Geeks Make Better Lovers. ...

First, some words on Geek Marketing:
''Geek Marketing Should be Like a Good Lover''- Kathy Sierra, Creating Passionate Users''Marketing is a conversation, but most people don't speak geek.''- John Dodds, Make Marketing HistoryThe world's most famous geek marketer, Seth Godin, recommends Geek Mafia for weekend reading to his blog readers. On ...

We created this forum for asking questions or discussing the Geek Marketing Contest. That way, the blog comments can remain as purely just the ideas themselves.

Axosoft does all kinds of marketing and advertising. We do Google AdWords, SEO optimization, print ads and other online ads. We spend a lot of money on these activities and we're always trying to find a better way to do it. The more efficient we can be at marketing, the more resources that can be available for ...
